MR SL 2018 – The search has begun !

We hope that you are enjoying the summer months to a most possible extent. Today we are starting with the search for the new man of the coming year, MR SL ♛ 2018.

Are you fashionable, stylish and trendy? Apply today and become the Man of the Year, MR SL ♛ 2018!

The MR SL pageants are open for everyone to join, regardless of previous modeling or pageant experience. We welcome especially newcomers to join the competition, who are interested in styling challenges and runway modeling. It is our standard to provide every participant with the basic knowledge and tools required, to allow everyone a fluent and successful performance in our shows.

We have revised the past competitions and based on our experience set up three runway challenges and two photo-challenges, to take place in October and November.

For this years round we may underline the following:

• There is no restriction on the usage of mesh bodies, body parts, heads and such.

• It is strongly suggested to maintain the avatar appearance that a participant applied with, for the competition as well. Changes and adjustments are solely at the participants discretion, but may or may not influence potential judges scoring.

• Live interviews are conducted on voice. Participants with another gender condition than that of their avatar, may be assured our confidential treatment of each individual case. Participants with speech or hearing disabilities may still apply and audition, but must inform us before auditioning, to be granted an exception from the voice interview. A chat interview will take place instead.

• Assigned country titles may be carried as group tag and in the profiles by and of the official candidates. If a participant fails to attend the Grand Finale, their title is revoked automatically, regardless of their previous attendance in the runway- and photo-challenges. MR SL country titles are assigned and granted at the discretion of MISS SL Organization only.

We have two application rounds, in August and September. All applicants will be displayed on our website, from which our judges panel choose, whom they wish to see in our auditions. Auditions are scheduled for August 26th and September 30th, 2017.

The three runway challenges take place on October 7th, 21st and 28th and the Press Presentation on November 11th, 2017.

The MR SL ♛ 2018 Pageant Grand Finale will be held on November 18th, 2017.

The entire schedule for the MR SL ♛ 2018 competition can be seen here.

We are looking forward for your applications and for the competition ahead.

Kind Regards

MISS & MR SL YoungStar 2017 – The Grand Finale – Introduction

Hello dear candidates,

it is not much time anymore until the finale of the MISS & MR SL YoungStar 2017 Pageant! We are very excited and look forward to organize the very first YoungStar finale for and with you.

WELCOME TO LONDON

The MISS & MR SL YoungStar 2017 Grand Finale will be ‘situated’ in one of the most exciting capitals of the world, in London. The 2000 years old city is popular as a multicultural melting pot, from where newest trends spread over the world quickly. Many movements and streams originate from ideas born by creative minds from or in London. The global city London is not only the home to the royal family or numerous of leading museums but the epicenter of many cultural branches like art, entertainment, music and certainly fashion, too.

Many Youth Cultures have found their vastness in all variations and colors in the streets of London, tolerated and welcomed by the liberal and cosmopolitan minded London citizens.

In our first trip to London we pay tribute to the titles, that you have chosen for the MISS & MR SL YoungStar pageant, as London is also the place in many books,  films and songs. Ready to depart from the King’s Cross Station’s 9 3/4 platform?

The Title Costumes

The Title Costume challenge in the YoungStar pageant is similar to the National Costume walks, that you would see in other pageants. You have chosen a fictional place from literature, film or music for your pageant title and in the title costume challenge you are asked to represent this place from your title. It is the challenge, in which you need to showcase your creativity and ability to think ‘outside of the box’.

Thinking outside of the box does mean, that you create a one-of-a-kind mix and match styling, to incorporate the theme that stands for your title. To represent i.e. Hogwarts and to wear a magician cloak and holding a wand in the hand may just not be enough.

With your title costume, you have unique ability to tell a story on the runway, using all your imagination and creative skills to express yourself.

Do not be fooled by the term ‘costume’. The Title Costume challenge is not a carnival, but a parade of culture, in which you represent a certain fan base or more even, a community. If you are not taking your title serious in the way you represent it in the pageant, you may be upsetting those, who are identifying as fans. Extensive research and your love to the detail will make your title costume the oustanding and unique styling that lets you represent your title worthy and inspiring to others.

In the Title Costume challenge you may go wild with your posing as well, you may use expressive up to articstic borderline poses, but you may want to make sure, to follow standards that still apply also for this challenge.

  • Check your hover height, always – you cannot hover or fly on our runway, not even if you are a magician.
  • Your poses should not stretch or break the fabric or textures of your clothing
  • Hair and body parts should not go into the clothing or into other body parts
  • Make sure, that accessories are properly attached, in particular those you are holding in your hands, but in general also.

Summer in London

This is our fashion challenge, in which you can showcase your sense for style and trends. We’re returning to nowadays London and more explicit in the summer months. You are a tourist in the City of London and all you know is, that London’s weather is very inconsistent with rain and clouds also at the height of summer. The question what to wear to come dry through a day is almost not to answer, the only way is to be prepared for all possibilities.

Style as a tourist, that goes out to visit the historic sites of London. Of course you don’t want to attract negative attention to the British people by looking like a cave man or women with white socks in sandals or leggings that let your legs look like sausages. To discover all the luxury stores in Knightsbridge or Saint James, to go into a bar in Soho or to  discover the landmarks of Westminster you may want to dress CASUAL CHIC and up with the trends of the current summer 2017.

You must use at least one color in your clothing, that is not black, white, gray, beige or blue. Accessoires, Jewelry, Hair and nails do not count for colors.

Your accessoires may be that of a tourist, but hold right there. As mentioned before, the weather in London is rather unpredictable, so you may be prepared for the case it`s getting colder or rainy during the day.

Show us, how you prepare for the unsteady weather for a day in London. Be careful if you are i.e. carrying an umbrella… it’s not very handy when taking the crowded tube and it’s quite a challenge to pose on runway with as well, because you must avoid that your accessoires break into your clothing or body parts. Or maybe it’s a stylish hat that helps you not to get wet if it rains, make sure that the hat does not cover your face.

And right at the end of the day, you will return to the hotel to get ready for the

Prom Night

The prom night is the event of the year, a formal occasion, to finish the (school) year, for which you will don yourself into the best attire, luxurious and elegant. It is the event, in which you shine bright and where you are the star. Obviously, it is also the highlight of the MISS & MR SL YoungStar Pageant, perhaps resulting into your coronation as MISS or MR SL YoungStar 2017, hence you may want to make sure to look stylish, flawless and perfect for the occasion.

Prom Dress Code

(copied from a catholic school, please ask if you have a question about)

  • Dresses may be strapless (if they fit properly) or include spaghetti straps.
  • Dresses may be backless, as long as they are not cut below the naval.
  • 2-piece dresses MUST overlap at the waist: meaning top MUST overlap with skirt waistband.
  • Midriffs will not be exposed. This includes both front and side. With arms down at your side, if skin touches skin, the dress is inappropriate.
  • Dresses may not have a slit that exceeds mid-thigh. This is fingertip length.
  • Dresses may not be cut below the bust line.
  • Undergarments should not be visible. See-through apparel is not permitted.
  • Garments that are tight or low-cut are also unacceptable.

  • Gentlemen, you are expected to wear formal attire. Formal prom attire may be classified as a tuxedo or dress suit, including a tie or bow tie, a dress shirt, which may include a vest or cummerbund, and dress shoes.
  • Shirts are to be worn at all times.
  • Tennis shoes and athletic shoes are unacceptable.

For the finale

Once every candidate has presented their prom styling, all candidates need to give an answer (shout into local chat) to question, that will be given to you in the rehearsals before the finale. All receive the same question. You have then time until the finale to prepare your answer.

In the following Question & Answer rounds with the top rated candidates, you will receive an individual question asked live by a present judge, which you need to formulate while you are on the stage. If you require translation from English to your native language, you must bring your own interpreter.

The Question & Answer round repeats if we are narrowing the the top scored to a top 3 for the selected candidates.

After we will announce the winners, MISS and MR SL YoungStar 2017.

For all challenges

  • You require for each challenge outfit a different walk, suitable for your styling, a default pose and a pose set of each approximately 40 seconds. (3 outfits = 3 walks, 3 default poses, 3 pose sets)
  • Please do not repeat a walk or a pose in two or more challenges.
  • You are required to submit a styling description for all three finale outfits. The styling descriptions get submit via a form on our website. The required information will be sent to you on Monday, July 24th personally in a notecard.
  • The styling description must contain a credit list, containing all elements that you have used for your styling, incl. the brand/designer name.
  • The styling descriptions must be submit by Thursday, July 27th, 12:00 p.m. SLT LATEST.
  • The participation in one of the rehearsals on Friday, July 28th – 10:00 a.m. SLT or 05:00 p.m. – is mandatory. The finale event is to complex to walk without rehearsal.
  • You must come to the finale venue after Saturday, July 29th 12:00 a.m. and rezz all three outfits and play all poses and walks, to store all information into the sim cache. This will minimize potential lag significantly and the judges as well as the audience will be able to see you without rezzing issues.

I hope, that you are as much excited for the pageant as we are. We are well aware of the effort that you put into your participation and and do hope, you will enjoy yourself and the event. Even though, at the end of the finale, we only will have two winners styled with a title, MISS and MR SL YoungStar 2017, we strongly believe, that you all are winners already by taking up on the challenge to participate. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the finale, please do not hesitate but let us know!

The date and time(s) for the ‘Meet and Greet’ event will be announced soon in the pageant group. We are likely to schedule two events to cover your different timezones.

The MISS & MR SL YoungStar 2017 Grand Finale – Welcome to London – event is scheduled for Saturday, July 29, to begin at 10:00 a.m. SLT and open for public.

I wish you all good luck and much fun!

Kind Regards

MISS & MR SL ♛ YoungStar 2017 – Picture Challenge “Back to School”

Hello candidates to the MISS & MR SL ♛ YoungStar 2017 Pageant. We hope you are all well and up for the challenges to come. Before we reveal the styling themes for the Grand Finale to you, we want to distract you a little, with a picture challenge. Please know, that a picture challenge is voluntary for the participation in the pageant, but it allows you to gain a few extra points towards your final competition scores.

Source: Pinterest

In our picture challenge we want you to imagine, that you go back to school (or college) the first day after the summer holidays again. The first day of the new session clearly is an exciting one, where we get to meet our friends again, where new students join classes, new teacher get introduced and eventually you have made yourself the promise to succeed this time better than in the previous year. Of course, you want to show yourself to everyone from your best side, recovered and fresh from the holidays, some beach tan, a new hair dress, these fancy shoes that everyone wants to have and surely a little more grown than before the holidays. It’s the day to dress and impress.

Source: https://www.pinterest.de/ELLE_Germany/

We ask to style an outfit that you would want to wear for one of this first school days after the holidays and to take a photography of it, in any way you see fit. That may include a decorated scene, which supports your outfit (i.e.  a classroom) but does not have to. The focus in the picture has to be your clothing. A fashion (blog) photography makes only sense, if details of the clothing are recognizable. If you wish to edit the picture with photoshop or other software, please make sure not to overprocess the colors and fabrics of your outfit with unnecessary filters.

  • Your picture must have a least size of 1024×1024 pixels. Fashion photographer and social media experts do recommend pictures ratio of 4:3 (i.e. 2048 px wide x 1536 px high) or 3:4, to photograph a complete scene a ratio of 16:9 or 16:10 may be required.
  • Upload your picture to your Flickr account and add it to the YoungStar group. You must be member of the group, to be able to add pictures.
  • Give your picture the title as following: MISS (or MR) SL ♛ (your title) – Back to School – Picture Challenge, e.g. MR SL ♛ Hogwarts 2017 – Back to School – Picture Challenge.
  • Add to your description a detailed credit list or a link to a post on your own blog, if you have one, where all credits are listed.
  • You may add more than one picture to the group, but please be aware, that your last submit picture, that is labeled as  “- Back to School – Picture Challenge” will be taken as submission for the judges.

Your picture must be submit by Sunday, July 23rd, 2017 until 12:00 p.m. SLT. Five independent judges will review your pictures for the quality, focus, scene, overall impression. The picture must be a photography taken by yourself. It is not allowed to submit a photography done by anyone other but yourself.

Source: https://www.pinterest.de/source/lookbook.nu/

The judges will give 1-10 points for each picture they review. The amount of points given to one picture gets divided through five (number of judges) and multiplied by three, to receive the score that will be added to your competition score ahead the Grand Finale. The result of the judges scoring will be disclosed within the finale.

Please note:

  • We may ask you kindly to refrain from manga inspired ‘lolita school uniform’ looks. This is not a challenge to make old men drooling over lollipop sucking cute girls, or boys.
  • Our judges panel are experienced photography and social media experts, who will not measure your photography based on faves or groups you add your Flickr picture to.
  • Please know, that even if you feel, that your photography skills are not that far yet, everyone has begun at some point and our judges too. They are able to recognize and will acknowledge your effort with their scoring. Please don’t be afraid to show your picture with a screenshot to our team or me in a personal IM before upload and we may give you advise, how to improve, if necessary.
  • You may post your picture to other social networks and blogs, please make sure to refer to your Flickr upload and the picture challenge.
  • Please do not use logos from any brand, organization or event in your picture.

We wish you much fun with this styling and photography challenge and look forward to see your submissions.

Good Luck!

MISS & MR SL YoungStar 2017 – Calling for the second audition!

We are happy about the received responses to our upcoming MISS & MR SL YoungStar 2017 Pageant. We have received more applications than expected and the feedback is overwhelmingly positive. Congrats to you, we are very excited to meet and see you in the audition.

Please read below carefully about the further going process:

Styling theme for the audition

Source: luxc.tumblr.com

Please research and style an outfit based on URBAN WARRIOR FASHION. You are not limited to a certain year or decade for your research, but we would suggest to style for the summer season. Please do not mistake the military aspect when researching, we do not wish to see armed models on the runway, weapons are not allowed. Please understand that Urban Warrior is not a clear defined fashion style, it’s rather an inspirational concept that can be adapted in many ways. Style yourself as the independent, fierce and up-and-ready-for-just-anything modern young model in an urban environment. A urban warrior does not follow the mainstream trends, but they are leaders and in control of any situation, bold and confident, trendsetting their own style.

Also:

  • When you do your research, you will find most Urban Warrior inspired resources black, white, gray or earthtones, or monochromatic photographed. For our audition theme you must use at least one (1) color in your clothing that is not black, white or gray.
  • Jewelry metals, gems, accessories of any kind, hair and nails, do not count for your color choice.
  • Please choose your accessoires wisely, sometimes less is more. Our judges do not appreciate ‘walking christmas trees’ on the runway. Again, weapons are not allowed.
  • Please prepare one or two sentences with max 50 words, in which you explain, what you were inspired by and why. You require this description in a notecard for yourself only, to be shouted into chat while your audition walk.
  • Please choose a walk, that you think suits your styling best and prepare a set of poses for one stop, which lasts approximately 40 seconds.

Here are a few links, that may help for your research, but you are not limited to:

Please use Pinterest and Google to research Urban Warrior Fashion and make sure you can explain in your description, why you were inspired by your choice.

Hint: The good stylist will not copy an inspiration but make it their own by using different elements, colors and accessoires.

Meet and Greet with the team, Runway Workshop

http://support.missslorganization.net/362876-Runway-Tools

  • We may recommend you to have and use an empty AO with your walk and default pose and a modeling HUD to control your pose set
  • Here`s an example for a (nearly) free AO, easy to use:

https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/DG-SCI-FI-ZHAO-II-MB2-BOX-2019-no-animation-contain/2342385

  • I personally use the STRUT HUD for my pose sets, but other models may use other HUD’s

https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Strut-It-Model-Hud-by-Mango/152487

  • We will be able to explain you the basics on how to use the devices, as well as how to ensure a mostly lag free and easy performance for yourself and others.
  • If you are unable to participate the workshop, please do not worry. Case by case we may be able to guide you individually.

The participation in the workshop is not mandatory, but if you wish to participate you must contact Rissa Bolissima or Venom Zanzibar and let us know your participation. You will receive a teleport to the classroom 10 – 15 minutes before begin.

You can attend both rehearsals, if you like.

All required informations, such as walk order, rehearsal and show landmarks, VPC code, etc, will be sent to you personally prior to the rehearsals.

Please arrive early to the rehearsals, preferably latest 15 minutes before. All MISS SL Organization events of any kind start punctual.

We are not able to translate our instructions into multiple languages. Please bring your own interpreter to the rehearsal(s), if you require one.

The Audition

The live audition is scheduled for

Saturday, July 15, 12:00 p.m. SLT

and is open for public audience.

After the audition

We will publish who of the aspirants from this second audition are selected to be finalists for the MISS & MR SL YoungStar Pageant, on Sunday after the audition.

  • If you are selected as MISS & MR SL YoungStar finalist, you will get to choose a fictional place from Film, Book, Music as for your title.

Example:

Hikaru choose Hogwarts – his official title will be:

Hikaru Enimo – MR SL ♛ YoungStar Hogwarts 2017

His SL group tag title (requires an own group) reads:

MR SL ♛ Hogwarts 2017

or

MR SL ♛ Hogwarts

  • Please have three fictional places prepared, that you would like to represent as MISS & MR SL Youngstar finalist. The title assignment will be done on first come, first serve basis. If your first choice is taken already, you will get assigned to your second choice and so on.
  • If you are chosen as finalist and participate in the MISS & MR SL YoungStar Pageant finale, you are allowed to keep your title after the pageant is finished too, i.e. in your profile, resume etc. Hence you may want to make sure to think and choose the fictional place for your title wisely.
  • It is not possible to receive Second Life region (sim) names as title, unless the name originates from a fictional place that is from a film, book or music piece.
  • Your fictional place may not refer to or resemble an actual existing country acknowledged by the United Nations, i.e. Pacific States of America or Holy Britannian Empire.
  • Your fictional place may be a fictional country, city, a region, any place that is considered a place. “My mommy’s kitchen” is not considered as such place and not to original either, you may agree… hence again, we may stress you to research for a fictional place that you can identify with.
  • If you have doubts about certain places that you would like to choose, please feel free to ask us about and we will check for you case by case.
  • Your choice of a fictional place will also play a role in the MISS & MR SL YoungStar Pageant finale. You will be asked to represent your assigned fictional place as title holder.

Detailed information about the Pageant finale will be shared with you after the list of all official finalists is published, in the week after the audition.

Source: vogue.co.uk

We look forward for the event to begin and to meet all of you and to see your styling ideas, your creativity and your individual performances. More so we hope, that we will be able to provide to you a unique, one of a kind pleasant and fun experience. Please know, that all MISS SL Organization team members are happy to help you, if you have any questions, problems or concerns. Please join the MISS SL Organization to ask in the group chat for help. If you are selected as finalist, you may join the MISS SL Pageant group, where all former and current MISS SL and MR SL candidates and finalists help each other.

Kind Regards

Detailed information about the Pageant finale will be shared with you after the list of all official finalists is published, after the two auditions.

MISS & MR SL YoungStar Pageant 2017 – The search is on!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The MISS and MR SL Pageants have developed to be the most watched styling competition in the last years and we are happily carrying out our aim to raise the bar for each new round again. But while doing so, we think that we miss out on a large part of our community, in which we happen to see many exceptional talents with bold, edgy and unique styling ideas. Those, who are not sporting the avatar “sizes” and “ages” that we consider to be “standard” within the modeling industry, are largely left out from opportunities to showcase their ideas to a wider audience, but blogging.

Many have asked us in the past to think about approaches for different smaller competitions under the aegis of MISS SL Organization, knowing our aim for fairness and openness. Most of this ideas just cannot get realized due to the lack of time, since the MISS and MR SL pageants occupy already most of our annual agenda.

We would like to use the free summer months to open a new competition, aimed to invite those with “younger” or “smaller” appearing avatars, who believe that they have skills and talent, to style their avatars in ways that it may inspire everyone. As in all MISS and MR SL pageants, we are continuously looking for Beauty, Creativity and Talent, but this time breaking the standards and therefor call for the MISS & MR SL YoungStar 2017 Pageant, the application is open now.

The MISS & MR SL YoungStar Pageant invites those with an apparent or assumed age of 13 – 25 to join our styling competition to become the first YoungStar of MISS SL Organization. While we do understand, that age and size are relative terms for avatars and are aware of the different perspectives in that matter as well as of the controversies that some are confronted with, we do believe and trust to find some exceptional talents within this group of avatars, that we normally would not see on Second Life runways.

“I do beg pardon, but this is not a child contest… it`s a styling competition for those, who appear to be teenagers and young adults. In my travels through Second Life I see so many that are exceptional stylists, but never would consider about modeling in any way, because of the standards that are common for runway modeling in our community. I would be happy, if we can provide a platform to those talents too” – Marcus Lefevre, 2017

The search for MISS & MR SL YoungStar 2017 starts today and we have scheduled two auditions. After the two auditions we will select official finalists for the MISS & MR SL YoungStar 2017 Pageant, which is scheduled for July 29, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. SLT. The entry conditions, the application as well as the entire schedule can be seen here.

Before and between the two auditions we will invite the aspirants for workshops to provide basic tools they may require for an unstressful and flawless performance and hope that it may encourage some to join the competition, who otherwise would not.

We may invite you for a new, fabulous celebration of Beauty, Creativity and Talent, MISS & MR SL YoungStar 2017, and look forward for your application and for an exciting journey ahead!

“We do intend to do it every time better”

“Rhiananna is MISS SL ♛ 2017” were my words last Saturday, at the end of the grandest event, that I had the honor to produce to date.

We have had 6 months of castings, auditions, meetings, exciting runway challenges, the live interviews, the press presentation and then the Grand Finale.

Fourteen candidates competed in the Grand Finale event on Saturday, which draw so much more attention, than we would have thought it would. Many have tried to access the region, where the finale show was held, and we may apologize to those, who could not enter.

We did have a bit of trouble to even keep the candidates on the region, respectively to get them in, which caused the one or other delay between the challenges. While we calculated 4 hours until the coronation of the new MISS SL ♛ 2017, it became 6 hours.

But it all is worth the effort, the stress and hard work that was put in, considering how exciting and intense the journey of the last months has been, that the candidates and the MISS SL Pageant team went through… , and me too.

(Pictures from the Grand Finale posted by Kaya Angel)

Reviewing this past six month, I am grateful by many means. Grateful for the experience, for the new friends, that we have made, for the wonderful moments we have shared. In a more personal way, I am grateful for the steps, that we have taken on with the MISS SL Pageant, in order to guarantee fairness and seriosity, to preserve a certain level of standards and yet, to keep it fun for all also.

One key point was the change of the judging process. While it seemed revolutionary to me, when we tried it in the MR SL pageant last year already, now fully established it is just a logical response to the experiences we have made before.

The judging process and the scores are somewhat of my sanctuary. Being judge for many contests myself and then experiencing in MR and MISS SL of the previous years, that certain circles would abuse their privileges to support a pageant candidate into a favorite or top position, lead me to my seeking for a way to control the judging process better, to justify my responsibility I have towards the candidates.

While the usual scoring process in pageants asks the judges to list their favorites from top to lowest, we now ask the judges to score a candidate from 1 – 10, without asking a favorite. Two or more candidates even can get the same amount of points from a judge, which was not possible before. Throughout six runway challenges, live interviews and the finale scoring then, the risk for a tie between two or more candidates is not any more than with the old scoring process, but quite the same. But, and that is undeniable, the scores and the results, are much more real.

Seeing the success of this change, it may be mentioned as well, that we had an healthy mix of judges, which is another of my core worries. Those who wonder… I may assure all future candidates, that those, who are trying to ill influence MISS or MR SL, in order to see their friends succeed, rather than to evaluate a real score for each candidate, will not be invited as judge anymore. We actually maintain internal lists just for that.

It needs to be said though, a pageant is not an agency casting, but the judges are selected from different fields, with different experiences, with different expectations and perceptions. As many judges are coming together, the results will never reflect that of what an agency casting would be like.

We were happy to invite new judges into the challenges, interviews and finale this year, and we will keep doing so. I may express my deepest gratitude to the core judges, that accompany us for the most events and also the newly invited judges, for taking the time, the hard work and taking up on the responsibility to score our candidates objectively and unbiased, as I do request it.

It have been to many, to list them all, but I do hope, that I may extend my invitation to you to judge again, in the upcoming pageants, MISS and MR SL.

(Pictures from the Grand Finale posted by Moon)

The other key point in the MISS and MR SL pageants appear to be the creativity and sophistication of the challenges. Everyone who wants to join a pageant, and in particular MISS or MR SL, should know, that a pageant is not supposed to be easy one-time show off, like a club contest for a raffle prize or a ‘dress to impress’ party.

A pageant is meant to be tough, to be an experience from begin to end for everyone involved, one that causes candidates to think outside of the standards and to discover their limits. To write the styling challenges is a challenge for myself very much, some are so complex that I need an half or entire day even, just to make sure to avoid all potential misunderstanding, but easy enough to understand, and yet not to easy to realize either. I was happy to see, when the posted styling challenges received such great response and interest.

If this two key points above are the very basics that MISS and MR SL pageants can be seen for, then we have achieved much more, than I have ever thought would be possible.

Especially the recent MISS SL ♛ 2017 pageant has shift this key points into clear position, for everyone visible and I think it was honored by our sponsors with their increased support we have experienced this year again. I may thank the sponsors and partners that have and keep to support MISS SL Organization and the MISS and MR SL pageants since begin and those, who have joined us in this round. Your support is crucial for us to be able to maintain the events as seen and we hope that we have been able to fulfill your expectations to your satisfaction.

The sponsors, media partners and supporters of the MISS SL ♛ 2017 pageant have been:

Angel Manor Estate, BAXE Group, Chop Zuey Couture Jewellery, EGOISME Milano, GABRIEL Fashion & Accessoires, GIZZA Creations, K – Haute Couture, Kultivate Magazine, L’ Homme Magazine SL, ModeLS Magazine, Moondance Boutique, Port Elysium, The Edge, Tiffany Designs, Virtual Diva Magazine, wiply.net and many more, who have helped the candidates and team to realize their styling ideas.

Another key point, that I personally value highly is the MISS SL team, recently referred to as ‘MISS SL Ohana’. Especially in the last half year the MISS SL team has grown closer together, than it has been before already. Particularly the usage of easier and direct communication channels has allowed the internal and extended group of members to be in close touch with each other, as never before.

It is my impression that the motivation of each single involved member has increased significantly with the improved communication.

The pageant team know well, how much I appreciate their hard work and yet I will express my gratitude here once again, as it cannot be said often enough. The events that take place for the MISS and MR SL pageants only could be as well organized and flawless as they have been, due to the unconditional engagement and dedication by the team members. Thank you especially to SaianSamuel – MR SL ♛ 2016, Rissa Bolissima, Venom Zanzibar, Djembe Dragonfire, Diana Balhaus and Richard Rabeling for their offered time, professional work in our events and friendship towards the candidates, but also to Ivyana Szondi – MISS SL ♛ 2016, Kat Carter and Angelus Bunin for their help and advice, i.e. in our feedback meetings.

In particular Rissa and Venom have been working restlessly for each show, to help me writing the scripts, hosting and helping to direct the runway. Both, Rissa and Venom, have been invited to MISS SL Agency as MISS SL ♛ Top Models, to acknowledge their hard work, but also to honor their both achievements in blogging and modeling.

We have received tremendous support for our stage sets and event venues in this pageant, which we are profoundly grateful for and may thank especially Ramses Meredith for the incredible offer to establish the Chinese Theatre as a general venue for MISS SL events, but also for the stage sets provided by him and Kaya Angel, and for Kaya’s continued support and invitation to have our challenges and events at the Rose Theatre and the Angel Manor also. The Angel Manor is not only my private home since four years now, but is also the home and office to MISS SL Organization.

As MISS SL Organization has become the home and family for so many now, I´m very grateful to know, that MISS SL ♛ 2016, Ivyana Szondi, expressed her willingness to continue in her position as CEO for MISS SL Agency. I would not feel well to write a farewell to her as MISS SL ♛ 2016 exiting from her reign, as I have not done so with previous winners either. I believe that Ivyana has been the right reigning MISS SL to the right time, leaving a significant positive imprint on MISS SL Organization. In the special events that took place, Ivyana was on the front, taking responsibilities and leading the candidates and models in their positions.

I believe Ivyana has found her role within the team quite well and I am  equally confident with Ivyana taking up on the future tasks of the agency’s lead together with the new models, the former and future candidates and winners.

(Pictures from the Grand Finale posted by Mizaki Verlack)

Congratulation to the 3 winners of this pageant, MISS SL ♛ 2017 – Rhiananna, the first runner up Sakura Zimberman and the second runner up Etoilerose and I may also extend my congratulations to the candidates, who made it into the TOP 8 and received the exclusive invitation to MISS SL Agency by Ivyana.

But as we finish this pageant, I do think, that all the finalists of the MISS ♛ 2017 competition have been winners. Every of this candidates has joined in for an extraordinary journey, which meant more than just to style for this or another occasion. Each single challenge, each event, each meeting has been hard work and the last weeks before the finale have been quite a rough time for everyone. To keep up with the scheduled events until and into the very finale then, is an huge achievement by every of the finalists and all of them have earned my utmost respect for that, plus the right to keep their national titles:

This is the list, with the titles that the finalists have:

  • MISS SL ♛ Austria 2017 – RoyaleSun
  • MISS SL ♛ Belgium 2017 – Roberta Aulder
  • MISS SL ♛ China 2017 – Sequane

MISS SL ♛ 2017 – Rhiananna, you are crowned with the ‘Victorious Crown of Grace and Honour’ and I say congratulations to you and that I do look forward for an interesting and exciting year ahead with you. I may assure you, that the previous winners, MISS and MR SL, are available to advise you as well as the entire team, including me. We all are looking forward for the first interviews, that are scheduled and to be published soon, as well as all other endeavours we will be taking up on with you.

I am also sure, that you will have the general support by our audience, who have accompanied us through all our events during the last six months.

The very positive feedback that we have received during the competition and after the Grand Finale gives us strength and motivation to continue. As I have said before announcing the final result:

We know we are not perfect, and we would never claim to be. But I know, that we always put our best effort to achieve the very best possible result for everyone involved, and we do intend to do it every time better.

I want to thank everyone, who has joined our events in the MISS SL ♛ 2017 competition and we hope, that we have been able to provide a most enjoyable experience to you as well. Special thanks we may offer to those, who have shared their wonderful photographs on Facebook and Flickr with us.

On a personal note I may thank all my close friends and my family for their support and patience with me, to allow me to be the ‘child in the candy store’ as it was expressed so nicely and right once by someone. I´m very blessed with your friendship and I wished I would express my gratitude to you more often. I do offer my sincere thanks to my fiancé Hikaru’s friends, all of his friends have been most supportive to the MISS SL ♛ 2017 events and me, and in particular Moon and Catherine, who have made sure, that the VIP area in the Grand Finale was nicely decorated and guests well received.

My dear loved loving man, fiancé and so, future husband, Hikaru; thank you for your unconditional support through all the good and also rough days and nights of the last months. I know I can be a tough bone to chew on, but you have kept to support and love me, regardless. Your love is my strength and I cannot thank you enough for that.

With that being said, I may officially close the MISS SL ♛ 2017 pageant and invite everyone to join us in July for a row of smaller contests, that we are requested to organize, from and for various communities and then for the MR SL ♛ 2018 pageant. The schedule for MR SL ♛ 2018 will be scheduled soon.

Thank you all for this fabulous celebration of Beauty, Creativity and Talent. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.

Sincerely

Marcus Lefevre
