MISS & MR SL YoungStar 2017 – The Grand Finale – Introduction

Hello dear candidates,

it is not much time anymore until the finale of the MISS & MR SL YoungStar 2017 Pageant! We are very excited and look forward to organize the very first YoungStar finale for and with you.

The MISS & MR SL YoungStar 2017 Grand Finale will be ‘situated’ in one of the most exciting capitals of the world, in London. The 2000 years old city is popular as a multicultural melting pot, from where newest trends spread over the world quickly. Many movements and streams originate from ideas born by creative minds from or in London. The global city London is not only the home to the royal family or numerous of leading museums but the epicenter of many cultural branches like art, entertainment, music and certainly fashion, too.

Many Youth Cultures have found their vastness in all variations and colors in the streets of London, tolerated and welcomed by the liberal and cosmopolitan minded London citizens.

In our first trip to London we pay tribute to the titles, that you have chosen for the MISS & MR SL YoungStar pageant, as London is also the place in many books,  films and songs. Ready to depart from the King’s Cross Station’s 9 3/4 platform?

The Title Costumes

The Title Costume challenge in the YoungStar pageant is similar to the National Costume walks, that you would see in other pageants. You have chosen a fictional place from literature, film or music for your pageant title and in the title costume challenge you are asked to represent this place from your title. It is the challenge, in which you need to showcase your creativity and ability to think ‘outside of the box’.

Thinking outside of the box does mean, that you create a one-of-a-kind mix and match styling, to incorporate the theme that stands for your title. To represent i.e. Hogwarts and to wear a magician cloak and holding a wand in the hand may just not be enough.

With your title costume, you have unique ability to tell a story on the runway, using all your imagination and creative skills to express yourself.

Do not be fooled by the term ‘costume’. The Title Costume challenge is not a carnival, but a parade of culture, in which you represent a certain fan base or more even, a community. If you are not taking your title serious in the way you represent it in the pageant, you may be upsetting those, who are identifying as fans. Extensive research and your love to the detail will make your title costume the oustanding and unique styling that lets you represent your title worthy and inspiring to others.

In the Title Costume challenge you may go wild with your posing as well, you may use expressive up to articstic borderline poses, but you may want to make sure, to follow standards that still apply also for this challenge.

  • Check your hover height, always – you cannot hover or fly on our runway, not even if you are a magician.
  • Your poses should not stretch or break the fabric or textures of your clothing
  • Hair and body parts should not go into the clothing or into other body parts
  • Make sure, that accessories are properly attached, in particular those you are holding in your hands, but in general also.

Summer in London

This is our fashion challenge, in which you can showcase your sense for style and trends. We’re returning to nowadays London and more explicit in the summer months. You are a tourist in the City of London and all you know is, that London’s weather is very inconsistent with rain and clouds also at the height of summer. The question what to wear to come dry through a day is almost not to answer, the only way is to be prepared for all possibilities.

Style as a tourist, that goes out to visit the historic sites of London. Of course you don’t want to attract negative attention to the British people by looking like a cave man or women with white socks in sandals or leggings that let your legs look like sausages. To discover all the luxury stores in Knightsbridge or Saint James, to go into a bar in Soho or to  discover the landmarks of Westminster you may want to dress CASUAL CHIC and up with the trends of the current summer 2017.

You must use at least one color in your clothing, that is not black, white, gray, beige or blue. Accessoires, Jewelry, Hair and nails do not count for colors.

Your accessoires may be that of a tourist, but hold right there. As mentioned before, the weather in London is rather unpredictable, so you may be prepared for the case it`s getting colder or rainy during the day.

Show us, how you prepare for the unsteady weather for a day in London. Be careful if you are i.e. carrying an umbrella… it’s not very handy when taking the crowded tube and it’s quite a challenge to pose on runway with as well, because you must avoid that your accessoires break into your clothing or body parts. Or maybe it’s a stylish hat that helps you not to get wet if it rains, make sure that the hat does not cover your face.

And right at the end of the day, you will return to the hotel to get ready for the

Prom Night

The prom night is the event of the year, a formal occasion, to finish the (school) year, for which you will don yourself into the best attire, luxurious and elegant. It is the event, in which you shine bright and where you are the star. Obviously, it is also the highlight of the MISS & MR SL YoungStar Pageant, perhaps resulting into your coronation as MISS or MR SL YoungStar 2017, hence you may want to make sure to look stylish, flawless and perfect for the occasion.

Prom Dress Code

(copied from a catholic school, please ask if you have a question about)

  • Dresses may be strapless (if they fit properly) or include spaghetti straps.
  • Dresses may be backless, as long as they are not cut below the naval.
  • 2-piece dresses MUST overlap at the waist: meaning top MUST overlap with skirt waistband.
  • Midriffs will not be exposed. This includes both front and side. With arms down at your side, if skin touches skin, the dress is inappropriate.
  • Dresses may not have a slit that exceeds mid-thigh. This is fingertip length.
  • Dresses may not be cut below the bust line.
  • Undergarments should not be visible. See-through apparel is not permitted.
  • Garments that are tight or low-cut are also unacceptable.

  • Gentlemen, you are expected to wear formal attire. Formal prom attire may be classified as a tuxedo or dress suit, including a tie or bow tie, a dress shirt, which may include a vest or cummerbund, and dress shoes.
  • Shirts are to be worn at all times.
  • Tennis shoes and athletic shoes are unacceptable.

For the finale

Once every candidate has presented their prom styling, all candidates need to give an answer (shout into local chat) to question, that will be given to you in the rehearsals before the finale. All receive the same question. You have then time until the finale to prepare your answer.

In the following Question & Answer rounds with the top rated candidates, you will receive an individual question asked live by a present judge, which you need to formulate while you are on the stage. If you require translation from English to your native language, you must bring your own interpreter.

The Question & Answer round repeats if we are narrowing the the top scored to a top 3 for the selected candidates.

After we will announce the winners, MISS and MR SL YoungStar 2017.

For all challenges

  • You require for each challenge outfit a different walk, suitable for your styling, a default pose and a pose set of each approximately 40 seconds. (3 outfits = 3 walks, 3 default poses, 3 pose sets)
  • Please do not repeat a walk or a pose in two or more challenges.
  • You are required to submit a styling description for all three finale outfits. The styling descriptions get submit via a form on our website. The required information will be sent to you on Monday, July 24th personally in a notecard.
  • The styling description must contain a credit list, containing all elements that you have used for your styling, incl. the brand/designer name.
  • The styling descriptions must be submit by Thursday, July 27th, 12:00 p.m. SLT LATEST.
  • The participation in one of the rehearsals on Friday, July 28th – 10:00 a.m. SLT or 05:00 p.m. – is mandatory. The finale event is to complex to walk without rehearsal.
  • You must come to the finale venue after Saturday, July 29th 12:00 a.m. and rezz all three outfits and play all poses and walks, to store all information into the sim cache. This will minimize potential lag significantly and the judges as well as the audience will be able to see you without rezzing issues.

I hope, that you are as much excited for the pageant as we are. We are well aware of the effort that you put into your participation and and do hope, you will enjoy yourself and the event. Even though, at the end of the finale, we only will have two winners styled with a title, MISS and MR SL YoungStar 2017, we strongly believe, that you all are winners already by taking up on the challenge to participate. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the finale, please do not hesitate but let us know!

The date and time(s) for the ‘Meet and Greet’ event will be announced soon in the pageant group. We are likely to schedule two events to cover your different timezones.

The MISS & MR SL YoungStar 2017 Grand Finale – Welcome to London – event is scheduled for Saturday, July 29, to begin at 10:00 a.m. SLT and open for public.

I wish you all good luck and much fun!

Kind Regards

“We do intend to do it every time better”

“Rhiananna is MISS SL ♛ 2017” were my words last Saturday, at the end of the grandest event, that I had the honor to produce to date.

We have had 6 months of castings, auditions, meetings, exciting runway challenges, the live interviews, the press presentation and then the Grand Finale.

Fourteen candidates competed in the Grand Finale event on Saturday, which draw so much more attention, than we would have thought it would. Many have tried to access the region, where the finale show was held, and we may apologize to those, who could not enter.

We did have a bit of trouble to even keep the candidates on the region, respectively to get them in, which caused the one or other delay between the challenges. While we calculated 4 hours until the coronation of the new MISS SL ♛ 2017, it became 6 hours.

But it all is worth the effort, the stress and hard work that was put in, considering how exciting and intense the journey of the last months has been, that the candidates and the MISS SL Pageant team went through… , and me too.

(Pictures from the Grand Finale posted by Kaya Angel)

Reviewing this past six month, I am grateful by many means. Grateful for the experience, for the new friends, that we have made, for the wonderful moments we have shared. In a more personal way, I am grateful for the steps, that we have taken on with the MISS SL Pageant, in order to guarantee fairness and seriosity, to preserve a certain level of standards and yet, to keep it fun for all also.

One key point was the change of the judging process. While it seemed revolutionary to me, when we tried it in the MR SL pageant last year already, now fully established it is just a logical response to the experiences we have made before.

The judging process and the scores are somewhat of my sanctuary. Being judge for many contests myself and then experiencing in MR and MISS SL of the previous years, that certain circles would abuse their privileges to support a pageant candidate into a favorite or top position, lead me to my seeking for a way to control the judging process better, to justify my responsibility I have towards the candidates.

While the usual scoring process in pageants asks the judges to list their favorites from top to lowest, we now ask the judges to score a candidate from 1 – 10, without asking a favorite. Two or more candidates even can get the same amount of points from a judge, which was not possible before. Throughout six runway challenges, live interviews and the finale scoring then, the risk for a tie between two or more candidates is not any more than with the old scoring process, but quite the same. But, and that is undeniable, the scores and the results, are much more real.

Seeing the success of this change, it may be mentioned as well, that we had an healthy mix of judges, which is another of my core worries. Those who wonder… I may assure all future candidates, that those, who are trying to ill influence MISS or MR SL, in order to see their friends succeed, rather than to evaluate a real score for each candidate, will not be invited as judge anymore. We actually maintain internal lists just for that.

It needs to be said though, a pageant is not an agency casting, but the judges are selected from different fields, with different experiences, with different expectations and perceptions. As many judges are coming together, the results will never reflect that of what an agency casting would be like.

We were happy to invite new judges into the challenges, interviews and finale this year, and we will keep doing so. I may express my deepest gratitude to the core judges, that accompany us for the most events and also the newly invited judges, for taking the time, the hard work and taking up on the responsibility to score our candidates objectively and unbiased, as I do request it.

It have been to many, to list them all, but I do hope, that I may extend my invitation to you to judge again, in the upcoming pageants, MISS and MR SL.

(Pictures from the Grand Finale posted by Moon)

The other key point in the MISS and MR SL pageants appear to be the creativity and sophistication of the challenges. Everyone who wants to join a pageant, and in particular MISS or MR SL, should know, that a pageant is not supposed to be easy one-time show off, like a club contest for a raffle prize or a ‘dress to impress’ party.

A pageant is meant to be tough, to be an experience from begin to end for everyone involved, one that causes candidates to think outside of the standards and to discover their limits. To write the styling challenges is a challenge for myself very much, some are so complex that I need an half or entire day even, just to make sure to avoid all potential misunderstanding, but easy enough to understand, and yet not to easy to realize either. I was happy to see, when the posted styling challenges received such great response and interest.

If this two key points above are the very basics that MISS and MR SL pageants can be seen for, then we have achieved much more, than I have ever thought would be possible.

Especially the recent MISS SL ♛ 2017 pageant has shift this key points into clear position, for everyone visible and I think it was honored by our sponsors with their increased support we have experienced this year again. I may thank the sponsors and partners that have and keep to support MISS SL Organization and the MISS and MR SL pageants since begin and those, who have joined us in this round. Your support is crucial for us to be able to maintain the events as seen and we hope that we have been able to fulfill your expectations to your satisfaction.

The sponsors, media partners and supporters of the MISS SL ♛ 2017 pageant have been:

Angel Manor Estate, BAXE Group, Chop Zuey Couture Jewellery, EGOISME Milano, GABRIEL Fashion & Accessoires, GIZZA Creations, K – Haute Couture, Kultivate Magazine, L’ Homme Magazine SL, ModeLS Magazine, Moondance Boutique, Port Elysium, The Edge, Tiffany Designs, Virtual Diva Magazine, and many more, who have helped the candidates and team to realize their styling ideas.

Another key point, that I personally value highly is the MISS SL team, recently referred to as ‘MISS SL Ohana’. Especially in the last half year the MISS SL team has grown closer together, than it has been before already. Particularly the usage of easier and direct communication channels has allowed the internal and extended group of members to be in close touch with each other, as never before.

It is my impression that the motivation of each single involved member has increased significantly with the improved communication.

The pageant team know well, how much I appreciate their hard work and yet I will express my gratitude here once again, as it cannot be said often enough. The events that take place for the MISS and MR SL pageants only could be as well organized and flawless as they have been, due to the unconditional engagement and dedication by the team members. Thank you especially to SaianSamuel – MR SL ♛ 2016, Rissa Bolissima, Venom Zanzibar, Djembe Dragonfire, Diana Balhaus and Richard Rabeling for their offered time, professional work in our events and friendship towards the candidates, but also to Ivyana Szondi – MISS SL ♛ 2016, Kat Carter and Angelus Bunin for their help and advice, i.e. in our feedback meetings.

In particular Rissa and Venom have been working restlessly for each show, to help me writing the scripts, hosting and helping to direct the runway. Both, Rissa and Venom, have been invited to MISS SL Agency as MISS SL ♛ Top Models, to acknowledge their hard work, but also to honor their both achievements in blogging and modeling.

We have received tremendous support for our stage sets and event venues in this pageant, which we are profoundly grateful for and may thank especially Ramses Meredith for the incredible offer to establish the Chinese Theatre as a general venue for MISS SL events, but also for the stage sets provided by him and Kaya Angel, and for Kaya’s continued support and invitation to have our challenges and events at the Rose Theatre and the Angel Manor also. The Angel Manor is not only my private home since four years now, but is also the home and office to MISS SL Organization.

As MISS SL Organization has become the home and family for so many now, I´m very grateful to know, that MISS SL ♛ 2016, Ivyana Szondi, expressed her willingness to continue in her position as CEO for MISS SL Agency. I would not feel well to write a farewell to her as MISS SL ♛ 2016 exiting from her reign, as I have not done so with previous winners either. I believe that Ivyana has been the right reigning MISS SL to the right time, leaving a significant positive imprint on MISS SL Organization. In the special events that took place, Ivyana was on the front, taking responsibilities and leading the candidates and models in their positions.

I believe Ivyana has found her role within the team quite well and I am  equally confident with Ivyana taking up on the future tasks of the agency’s lead together with the new models, the former and future candidates and winners.

(Pictures from the Grand Finale posted by Mizaki Verlack)

Congratulation to the 3 winners of this pageant, MISS SL ♛ 2017 – Rhiananna, the first runner up Sakura Zimberman and the second runner up Etoilerose and I may also extend my congratulations to the candidates, who made it into the TOP 8 and received the exclusive invitation to MISS SL Agency by Ivyana.

But as we finish this pageant, I do think, that all the finalists of the MISS ♛ 2017 competition have been winners. Every of this candidates has joined in for an extraordinary journey, which meant more than just to style for this or another occasion. Each single challenge, each event, each meeting has been hard work and the last weeks before the finale have been quite a rough time for everyone. To keep up with the scheduled events until and into the very finale then, is an huge achievement by every of the finalists and all of them have earned my utmost respect for that, plus the right to keep their national titles:

This is the list, with the titles that the finalists have:

  • MISS SL ♛ Austria 2017 – RoyaleSun

We cannot offer all of you a crown or a runner up title, but at least we hope, that you know, that we invite you to feel and be involved in the MISS SL Organization projects, where you see yourself fit in. If you have certain ideas and interests, that we would be able to help with to realize, we are available for you to speak about.

MISS SL ♛ 2017 – Rhiananna with the ‘Victorious Crown of Grace and Honour’ exclusive for MISS SL by Chop Zuey – official headshot by Hikaru Enimo

MISS SL ♛ 2017 – Rhiananna, you are crowned with the ‘Victorious Crown of Grace and Honour’ and I say congratulations to you and that I do look forward for an interesting and exciting year ahead with you. I may assure you, that the previous winners, MISS and MR SL, are available to advise you as well as the entire team, including me. We all are looking forward for the first interviews, that are scheduled and to be published soon, as well as all other endeavours we will be taking up on with you.

I am also sure, that you will have the general support by our audience, who have accompanied us through all our events during the last six months.

The very positive feedback that we have received during the competition and after the Grand Finale gives us strength and motivation to continue. As I have said before announcing the final result:

We know we are not perfect, and we would never claim to be. But I know, that we always put our best effort to achieve the very best possible result for everyone involved, and we do intend to do it every time better.

I want to thank everyone, who has joined our events in the MISS SL ♛ 2017 competition and we hope, that we have been able to provide a most enjoyable experience to you as well. Special thanks we may offer to those, who have shared their wonderful photographs on Facebook and Flickr with us.

On a personal note I may thank all my close friends and my family for their support and patience with me, to allow me to be the ‘child in the candy store’ as it was expressed so nicely and right once by someone. I´m very blessed with your friendship and I wished I would express my gratitude to you more often. I do offer my sincere thanks to my fiancé Hikaru’s friends, all of his friends have been most supportive to the MISS SL ♛ 2017 events and me, and in particular Moon and Catherine, who have made sure, that the VIP area in the Grand Finale was nicely decorated and guests well received.

My dear loved loving man, fiancé and so, future husband, Hikaru; thank you for your unconditional support through all the good and also rough days and nights of the last months. I know I can be a tough bone to chew on, but you have kept to support and love me, regardless. Your love is my strength and I cannot thank you enough for that.

With that being said, I may officially close the MISS SL ♛ 2017 pageant and invite everyone to join us in July for a row of smaller contests, that we are requested to organize, from and for various communities and then for the MR SL ♛ 2018 pageant. The schedule for MR SL ♛ 2018 will be scheduled soon.

Thank you all for this fabulous celebration of Beauty, Creativity and Talent. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.

MISS SL 2017 – The Fifth Runway Challenge – The Golden 1920’s

Source: Glamourdaze

Hello Ladies,

In the last of the regular runway challenges, we are doing a quick time travel and hope, that you will enjoy.

We will celebrate the golden 1920’s in our next challenge. The 20’s are often described as the “roaring” 20’s. After the devastating years of the first world war people seeked to break out of the limits and one tool certainly was fashion.

The 1920s was an era of dramatic changes in fashion; women shocked their men, dress seams rose and  and the twenties flapper style came up. Makeup became popular and the hairstyles became shorter. The notorious flapper girl is known by all and the short sleek hair, above the knee straight shift dress and the boyish figure will never fail to be remembered.

The iconic flapper style didn’t debut quite yet, but the androgynous look was the complete opposite of the previous ladylike from the decades before. The ‘boyish bob’ and the ‘garconne frock’ were staple fashion phrases. The classic flapper girl wore a short shapeless shift dress, short sleek hair. The flapper demonstrated her rebellious style by wearing makeup and playfully applying it in public. She was seen brandishing cigarette holders and exposing her limbs while dancing unrestrictedly in the clubs.

A more sleek and sophisticated look was adopted in the 1920s. Thin spaghetti straps were worn to create a revealing and sexy look. The shift style drop dress was worn by flappers. With no waist, the dress was relatively easy to make at home, allowing the middle class women to blend in with the highly fashionable upper class. The chemise style dress was also worn, usually adorned for dancing to jazz. With the waist disappearing and the bust suppressed a narrow boyish silhouette was preferred. The hair got shorter, curves were eliminated and the line became more simplified.

Accessories were a key part of the 1920s look. The accessories were extravagant, big and opulent. Taken from the art deco and Egyptian style, beaded bags, feather boas and embellished head bands were the accessory of choice for evening. Pearls were a staple accessory encouraged by the designer Coco Chanel. Her simplistic outfits were always seen dressed up with strings of pearls. Women were now been seen smoking in public making cigarette holders and cases an added statement of good style. At the beginning of the twenties women’s shoes still had a pointed toe but were gradually becoming more rounded. Around the mid Twenties the Cuban style and Mary Jane style of shoe gained increasing popularity. The shoes were seen as ‘high heels’ for the era, however, only reaching around two inches. Hats were a popular women’s accessory during this period. They created a simple and elegant look. In the early part of the decade simple hats with brims were worn, later on the rimless cloche hat became fashionable mid twenties. The hat was only wearable with a short and flat hairstyle due to the close fitting design. With the hat pulled over the eyes, the style effected ladies posture as it was necessary for them to tilt their heads upwards in order to see.

  • Please style an outfit inspired by the fashion trends of the 1920’s decade (1920 – 1930). Please do actual research, to find a style, that you do like the most. You´re not limited to a certain style of the 20’s but you can chose from all it`s varieties.
  • Please limit your style choice based on the current season, Spring/Summer.
  • You are not limited in your color or designer choices.
  • Please pay especially attention to underline your styling with appropriate accessory, as the introduction above suggests accessories as key part of 20’s fashion.
  • Please make sure that chosen accessory, fabrics, pattern, hairs and so your overall style really make you to embody a woman and style of the 1920’s.
  • Please do not copy a styling from any inspiration, but make it your own styling!

  • Please write in your styling description, what you have been inspired by. Please provide links to your inspiration in the text field below the description.

MISS SL 2017 – The Second Runway Challenge – Spring is in the Air!

Saved from

Hello Ladies, official candidates in the MISS SL 2017 pageant,

First of all, it is my honor and pleasure to congratulate you all again for performing a beautiful and fabulous show with the first runway challenge “Women of the World”. Not only have you shown very interesting minimal chic styling ideas, but we also had the opportunity to learn about the situation that women live and work in and your thoughts on, what can or needs to change, or what has been achieved already. I want to thank you, for sharing this important messages with us and our audience in our event.

It is now time, to move forward with the second challenge, which is scheduled for coming Saturday, and I really hope, you like this challenge too. In the second runway challenge I would like to see an explosion of colors, a call for the upcoming spring, the happiness and joy that the raising temperatures and blossoming flowers and trees cause in us.

Christian Dior, Fall 2010 Couture
Saved from

Short to the point, here are the specific details:

  • Please style an outfit, which resembles anything, which commonly is associated with the spring season. This can be literally anything, but as example, it can be a styling associating a flower, a tree, an animal…
  • You may use single parts of flowers or trees, in order to enhance your styling, i.e. petals, leaves.
  • The fabrics used in your styling may have floral pattern. The pattern only may enhance your styling, but should not be the main element.
  • Jewelry in your styling should not be the main element, to achieve a spring associating styling, either.
  • While you may use this elements, they, and accessory, only should enhance your styling. What matters is your creativity to make clothes express the emotion of spring.
  • I may suggest you, to use bold and fresh colors. For your guidance I have added the Pantone Spring 2017 color chat to this post, but you are not limited to those colors.
  • Please prepare a walk, a default pose and a pose set of at least 40 seconds for your styling. Please also have a reverse- (curtain-, back-, 180°-) pose prepared, just in case.
  • Please write a single sentence about spring. What does spring mean to you, what emotions do you have for spring. Limit your sentence to 20 words maximal please.

This is your challenge, ladies, and I do hope that it will trigger your creative skills a little and that we will see again some beautiful styling ideas in the coming challenge.

The second runway challenge is scheduled for Saturday, March 11, 10:00 a.m. SLT. As always, we will have rehearsals on the Friday before, at 10:00 a.m. and 05:00 p.m. SLT. It is mandatory to attend at least one of the rehearsals, to be eligible to participate the challenge. Detailed informations you require for the rehearsals and the challenge, will be sent to you in a notecard on Thursday night.

I am very excited to see, what you will do with this challenge. While the Pinterest Board above shows the Autumn Collection 2010 from Dior, it very much reflects, what the challenge intends.  Do not cover yourself all over with flowers, BE the flower. May you blossom on our runway in this challenge, that is my sincere hope.

Kind Regards

MISS SL 2017 – The first runway challenge – Women of the World!

Brilliant Pic Of International Women’s Day

Hello to all official candidates in the MISS SL 2017 Pageant,

finally we can begin with the competition and I am very excited and hope you are too. The first runway challenge is traditionally easy and for us to see, how far we can or need to push your limits within the competition. For each of the challenges you will need to do research on the particular given styling theme, on history and for the country you represent in MISS SL 2017.

In this first challenge you are asked to create a Minimal Chic Styling. Minimalist fashion is clean and it may look simple at the first glance, and for some it can seem like a fancy word for “boring, but do stop right there. Minimalist fashion is everything else, but simple or boring. Minimalism has a Monet effect, in that it might look simple, but there’s a world of things to examine upon closer inspection. From clever cuts, geometrical forms to lovely construction and carefully chosen colors, minimal fashion doesn’t give it all away immediately.

And that is the practice of this challenge. While you create your minimal chic styling, you need to use the colors, from the flag of the country, that you are representing in the MISS SL 2017 pageant. With this, we make your styling to be a bold fashion statement for your country. We want you to be bold in this first runway challenge, to shout out for the upcoming International Women’s Day, which takes place on March 8 and is celebrated world wide by women of all cultures. This year theme of the International Women`s Day is #BeBoldForChange. While you walk in our first runway challenge, we also would like to know, what you wish to change, to improve and support the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women in your country.

Please read the details below:

  • Please create a minimal chic styling. You are not limited to a certain season or year, but make it minimal and yet, bold.
  • For your styling you may only use the colors, that are used in your countries flags. Jewelry, hairs and nails are excluded from the color limitation.
  • Formulate a statement for the International Women`s Day 2017 (#BeBoldForChange) to support the women of your country. Your statement should not be longer than 200 words.
  • Please take a raw shot of your styling. The picture should be at least 512×512 large, but not larger than 1024×1024. Raw shots are usually done with a clean, unicolor background.
  • Please fill the styling description form, with all the requested details. Please attach your raw shot also. Additionally you can submit a second raw shot, i.e. a close up.
  • Please message Marcus Lefevre in order to receive the password, which is required to submit your styling description form.
  • Your styling description must be submit and received until Friday, March 03, 12:00 p.m. SLT, latest.
  • Your statement for the International Women`s Day send in a notecard to Marcus Lefevre please. Please label the notecard like this ‘MISS SL (your country name) – IWD Statement’. This notecard also must be submit and received until Friday, March 03, 12:00 p.m. SLT, latest.

The Challenge rehearsals are scheduled for Friday, March 03, 10:00 a.m. and 05:00 p.m. SLT. It is mandatory to attend one of the both auditions.

The first runway challenge is scheduled for Saturday, March 04, 10:00 a.m. SLT and is open for public.

I do hope that you like and enjoy this challenge and do look forward to see, what you will do with this. Please be carefully not to do to less with this styling theme, but also not to overdo it. The Pinterest boards we have used for this post are random examples only, but you really need to do own research and to find an own inspiration.

Please feel free to ask questions, if you have any, in our pageant group or personally.

Good Luck!
